The Energy Tutorial is a project tutorial, that was founded by students as an alternative to traditional courses. Students from different study fields work in small groups and choose their contents and methodic approach of their project.

For the contribution to education for sustainable development the Energy Tutorial was labeled by the UNESCO as official decade project. We are pleased that our commitment in teachings is valued in that way.

In the practical projects example systems with environmentally friendly technologies are built such as solar, biogas and wind power installations often in collaboration with extramural partner organizations.

In the theoretical tutorials interdisciplinary questions in the fields of energy, environment and society are analysed for example social implications of decentralised energy supply or the relation of climate protection and national environment politics.

New study impulses are due to the practical projects with foreign students in Germany and the partner country in the field of renewable energies. Furthermore there is a regular interchange by excursions with specific topics.

There are offered and supervised student research projects and dDiploma theses about technical and social aspects of renewable energies.
