Important Note - Virtual ISHPC 2021! Extended submission Deadline 14.04.2021! [2]

Due to restrictions and concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to have a completely virtual conference in August 2021.

Welcome to the website of the International Sorption Heat Pump Conference (ISHPC 2021).The conference will take place virtually from August 22nd to 25th 2021 and hosted by the Technische Universität Berlin.

Online (Pre-)Conference

Due to the Corona pandemic the conference is postponed to 2021. Already accepted papers are published here [6]. We invite you to exchange your opinions about the contents in our online pre-conference [7].



Every three years the ISHPC is bringing together the most important industrial and academic sorption technology stakeholders from all parts of the world. ISHPC started with an absorption working fluid workshop in the early 1980s and has continued since then with conferences held every two to three years worldwide. After the last conferences in Maryland, USA in 2014, and Tokyo, Japan in 2017, the conference will be hosted by TU Berlin in 2021.

Adsorption Cooling in Motion

In this experiment, the power of sorption cooling is shown: after connecting two vessels containing only water and zeolith, water steam flows from the water vessel into the zeolith one, taking so much heat from the remaining water that its temperature falls below the freezing point!
